I'm looking for a little audience participation today. One of the best things about living on our land is that we have a huge amount of wild blackberries. I have been picking about 2 quarts a day for the past week. We've put them on cereal and yogurt. We've eaten them by the handful. I've thought of cobbler & crisp. But, I'm wondering, what would all of you do with these blackberries??
Please leave me your ideas. I'm clinging to this last, juicy, wonderful part of summer with all of my being!

Ok, so maybe I'm not the best person to respond for you (I'm not a berry person). Here's a few ideas:
Fruit Salsa or Compote
Muffins
Cordial, syrup or BBQ sauce
Parfait with yogurt
Fresh fruit smoothie
I always find tons of inspiration from Allrecipes.com.
Good Luck!
Hey, that picture is black raspberries. Is that what you have or do you have both? They taste different but both delish! I have a good and very easy recipe for a strudel thing that calls for apples but I have made with blueberries. I'm sure it would be great with most other fruit as well. I'll send it along or bring it to TKD.
A Blackberry shake is fantastic on a hot summer day!
And of course, jam!
YUMMMMMMMM. Our blackberries are long gone down here in south Georgia....
I am eating a pretty good end of season watermelon, though.
Blackberry cobbler is hubby's fav... I like the crips. :D
But when it's down to the last few weeks of summer I freeze my berries so I can have them during winter.
A freezer jam is nice too and SUPER easy
I'm with Elizabeth. Freeze some so you can have some yummy cobbler in the winter.
I'm thinking jam.
On toast.
On pancakes....
THEY LOOK FABULOUS
Thanks y'all!! Ramsey~tee hee, you're right! They are black raspberries. I actually am awash in actual blackberries, but used a pic from last month. ooops! :)
Honestly!! Now I'm worried that I won't have enough for all of the great ideas! Compote? Salsa? Pancakes? Shake? OH MY!!!
We always freeze a bunch, and I always make fruit crisps (cobblers tend to be too doughy for my dh) in the winter. It's a great dessert topped with vanilla ice cream! Our former neighbor says it's what a true dessert should be. ;)
Blackberry jam is DELICIOUS!!!!!! Oops, a little too excited hehe!!
Three words:
Blackberry. Custard. Pie.
:)
Pound cake blackberry cobbler, oh yummy!
Each year I make this when the wild blackberries ripen. If you are interested I will post the recipe on my blog to share.
Michele
Oh I forgot to add, make a fresh fruit body scrub!
The recipe is up on my blog now.
